KSD stops illicit material from invading your child’s computer by filtering and blocking web content while they surf. It protects your computer from your kids, and your kids from your computer. The goal was to create an appliance for kids to use without worrying about inadvertently damaging files on the host PC. For Windows hosts, there is an optional host component that restricts the access to the host computer even more. This component replaces the default shell in Windows with custom shell for your "kid" user. The shell prevents users from accessing the host computer and restricts the user to only running the appliance. Once the user logs in, the appliance will automatically start. When the appliance exits, the user will be logged off.
